1972년에 발표되어 오늘날까지 오랜 세월 동안 팝 팬들에게 사랑받고 있는
'Beautiful Sunday'의 주인공인 Daniel Boone은 영국의 가수 겸 작곡자로
1970년대에 몇장의 싱글들을 발표하며 활동하였으나
전세계적으로 히트한 'Beautiful Sunday' 외에는 별로 알려진 곡이 없으며
한 곡만을 히트시키고 사라져간 반짝 스타(One-hit Wonder)였다.
Daniel Boone은 1972년에 싱글
'Annabelle/Who Turned The Light Out on My Life'를 발표하였고
곧 이어 싱글 'Beautiful Sunday/Truly Julie'를 발표하였다.
그해 여름 빌보드 싱글 차트(Billboard Hot 100)에
싱글 'Beautiful Sunday'가 15위에 오르면서 히트 곡이 되었고,
영국에서도 싱글 차트(UK Singles Chart)의 21위에 오르며 히트를 하였다.
영미 양국의 싱글 차트 Top 40에 진입한 'Beautiful Sunday'는
전세계적으로 100만장이 넘는 판매고를 기록하면서
단숨에 다니엘 분을 스타로 만들어 주었다.
또한 '롤링 스톤지(Rolling Stone Magazine)'에서는
1972년에 '가장 호감가는 가수(Most Likeable Singer)' 부문에
Daniel Boone을 선정하여 그의 인기를 뒷받침 해주었고
일본의 오리콘 차트(Oricon Chart)에도
Daniel Boone 의 노래 'Beautiful Sunday'가 등장하여 히트를 하였다.
