이 노래는 본래 스코틀랜드 민요에 바탕한 것이며,

그 민요는 하나의 찬송가이며 네일어 노래였다.

 

'Morning Has Broken'으로 된 것은

영국의 유명 여류 시인에 의한 것 이라 한다.

 이 곡은

1972년 캣 스티븐스(Cat Stevens)에 의해

싱글로 발표된 곡으로 많은 가수들에 의해 리메이크 되기도 했다.
